~ December~

Well let's see - it is December the 6th and my tree is up but not decorated. Most of the house is decorated though. I worked on it most of the day yesterday. I still have a lot to do. I have empty boxes and tubs sitting in the front room and dining room that need to be packed away still. The tree still needs to be decorated and the outside lights still need to be put up. I haven't purchased the first gift yet or made out the first Christmas card. I am so far behind! I really need to take some vacation time and get caught up. I am not sure that will be happening this week or next though. I have to pack for two trade shows coming up in January and that will take me a week to do. I can't take any time off until both are packed and shipped to Vegas. I guess I better get busy instead of sitting here typing away precious time that I need to be doing other things.

Online Crop

CropChocolate.com is hosting their first ever online crop this weekend. I love this site and if you have never browsed it - check it out! Wonderful people on this site to chat with and the products, pricing and customer service are unmatched. I am so excited about the crop. This will be my first online or otherwise crop! I know that sounds crazy since I have been scrapbooking for what seems like forever but yeah - no crops. I don't really consider scrapping with Kathy a crop. My idea of a crop would be at least three or four people. Anywho...it sounds like a lot of fun and I am going to give it a try.
My scrap room is almost complete. I still need to get everything organized and put away but for the most part I am moved in. There are things that I still want to do - like ripping up that carpet - but it will have to wait. I am hoping after Christmas that I can order the Ikea shelves or find something similar. I also want to do a"cube wall". I am sure that I will rearrange things a dozen more times before I finally am satisfied with the layout. Just like I do on a scrapbook page!
I am sooo ready for 5 o'clock today. I can't wait to get home and scrap!

My Favorite Quote of the Day

Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am a bit sarcastic. OK - not a bit - a lot! Sometimes to the point that it gets me into trouble. I have never been one to mince my words or hold anything back. I have tried to work on that as I have gotten older. That's not working out for me either. Anyway, enough about that. My favorite quote of the day is ...
"It's not sarcasm. It's humor with an attitude."
I love that! That is totally me. Just thought I would share that today.

Redesign ~

Well, my 19 year old finished moving out the rest of his stuff this past week. I now have an empty room waiting to be revamped into my scrapbooking ~ craft room. Yay for me! OK, so here is what I am dealing with. The carpet is a red 70's shag and the walls are Cubs blue. Yeah it is hideous but it was like that when we moved in and my son loved it. He is a Red Sox fan so the colors still worked for him. Well, now I am going to have to paint this mess because the room is way too dark for my liking. There is only one window in the room and the ceiling fan light is a joke. I am going to have to take the fan down and replace it with some more practical task lighting. I started this past weekend with my revamp project. I have completed the primer and now I just need to paint. I am going to paint it a boring but bright white. I have several shelves and pictures that will add enough color that I do not need color on the wall too. Painting is going to have to wait for about two weeks though. We have our grandson this coming weekend so there will be no painting. I am sure that he would love to help me - no. I can see the mess and no. I have seen this child with fingerpaints, markers and crayons - no.

Why?

Ok, so my grandson is three years old and has moved into the "why?" stage. If you ask him to pick up his toys, his response is "why?" I say "Time for bed." His response is ... you guessed it! "WHY??" Everything is "why?" now and it makes me crazy! I know it is just a phase and he will move on to something else soon. Still, I have to bite my tongue to keep from answering his "Why?" with a "Because I said so that's why!" I know that unless he asks the questions he will not learn the answers. It still drives me a little nuts after repeating the answer only worded differently a half dozen times. Maybe I will turn the tables on him and answer "Why not?" and see what his responses are. This could be very interesting.

I Think I May Have A Problem...

No, I know that I have a problem. I am addicted to scrapbook paper and embellishments. I have enough of both to open my own scrapbooking store but I keep buying more. The new lines coming out now are just too irresistible. I have to have them all! I know that I really don't need any more paper. I could probably complete over a hundred scrapbooks with what I have currently in my stash! Not an exaggeration by any means. I can not control myself when it comes to paper. Stickers, chipboard, flowers , brads and etc. are all right there with the paper. Every time I see a new brad or a flower - into my cart it goes - without a thought. It's just crazy! I tell myself that I will not buy another thing until I use what I have - ha ha ha! Like that is really going to happen. I can not seem to finish a layout without thinking of something that I don't have that would be really cute on there instead of what I already have. I am always looking at different shopping sites and blogs for the latest and greatest. Oh, I wish I would have thought of that layout, using that stamp or pairing up those patterns and so on. I really need to stop but it just too much fun!

Yay Fall!

I love fall. It is my favorite season. I love the warm days and cool nights. The colors of fall with the oranges, yellows & reds of the fall foliage. Falling leaves, raking leaves and jumping in the leaves. Pumpkins...pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin and onions and just seeing pumpkins! Oh and Colts football season has started. Love to watch NFL football. I hated watching my kids play football because I was always terrified that they would get hurt. NFL football - whole different thing though. All of the fall craft festivals and going with our friends to the different ones. We love festivals. Our husbands tolerate festivals for us but I think that they really just go for the food. I just love everything about fall. I am going to try to get some really great pictures of the foliage and at the festivals that we are attending this year. I want to scrap a "me" page because I really never do a page for me. I don't know that I will put in a scrapbook but I was thinking that it would be nice to have displayed in my craft room. Inspiration is the key.

My Hmmm's For The Day

Why is there Braille at the drive up ATM machine?
What do they list as hair color for a bald man on his driver's license?
If sour cream is already sour then why is there an expiration date on the carton?
Why is it if I wake up early I will inevitably be late for work?
Why is it that the only time I want ice cream is when I know that there is none in the house?
Who came up with paper beats rock? You know if you are holding a piece of paper and I throw a rock at it - the rock will bust through the paper & hit you! If the rock can break the scissors, it will most definitely bust through the paper. I just don't get that??

Just some random thoughts that are going through my head today. I know it's a little strange but that is how my mind is working today. I am feeling a little discombobulated.
The good news is that it is Thursday and the weekend is fast approaching. Yep, I am ready for a couple of days off.

Welcome Friday!

I am happy that Friday is finally here. We have our grandson this weekend so that makes it extra special. We are taking him to the State Fair this weekend and riding the fair train. I am excited because I can already picture lots of scrapbooking layouts with the pictures that I will be taking. Do some shopping for special papers and embellies that are fair / amusement rides related. It's going to be great!
I am also taking a vacation day on Monday so I can recover - jk. Actually, I am going to try to get some neglected home repairs and closet cleaning done. I have a bedroom that has been turned into a storage room and it was not intentional. All the junk just seemed to gravitate to that room. Why is that? I am sure that everyone - not just me- has a junk drawer, bin, closet, ROOM in their house. Ok- maybe it is just me but I am going to work on it. If I can get the room cleared, I will be happy with just the drawer. Maybe...I tend to hang on to things that I think I might use later. Not a hoarder really - just having a hard time letting go of things of the past. I have bins of clothes for example. These bins range in four sizes. Now reality tells me that the smallest of those four sizes is a thing of the past and I need to let them go to someone who can still wear them. I just have a hard time with it. In my mind I am thinking I will get back there some day. I am not giving up on getting back there mind you. I am giving up on keeping all of those clothes though. I will keep a pair of jeans out for inspiration. The rest is going on to a charity. It's going to happen and I am going to feel so much better about it. Maybe once I get the junk cleared out I can start working on converting that space into my craft room. Now there is an inspiration. Once I get started - I will post before, during and after pictures.
Have a great weekend!

Let's Try This Again...

Here is the thing - I am the Queen of Unfinished Projects. I get all of these great ideas - some I even start - but I have a real problem with completion. I try to do too many things at once. I know before I even move on to something new that I am not going to finish it. If I do finish it, I am not happy with it because I hurried through it. I have finished two scrapbooks and I have nine more in the works. Some will not be finished for years just because of the type of scrapbook that they are. I am doing my niece and nephew's school years scrapbooks. My nephew just started kindergarten and my niece is in pre-school so it will quite awhile before they are finished. My grandson's first year scrapbook should already be completed but it's not even close. He is three years old now for goodness sake! I started this blog as a way to help me with my journaling and to remind of certain events. Well, I can't even keep this up! I go months between posts. I also wanted to post pictures of layouts on here so that family could check them out. I haven't done that yet either. Hmmph! I am making a promise to myself to be more diligent with this. I am going to post something - anything at least once a week. Let's see how this goes.

Trying To Catch Up

Do you find that the older that you are the faster time seems to pass. Just like this blog - it seems like just a couple a weeks ago that I wrote the first entry. In reality - its been months and months ago. Wow...just passes too quickly sometimes.
My grandson turned three years old in early March. He is growing up so fast. I can still picture him sleeping in his crib, bouncing in his bouncy seat, that first tooth, learning to crawl, learning to walk, learning to run and jump. It's like that all happened just a month ago, weeks ago, days ago, hours ago. Just too fast. I want it to slow down but I know that I have no control over that. I know that you can't keep them little, cute and cuddly for long. I three grown boys that remind me of that.
I am trying to reorganize my scrapbook room and get caught up on my layouts. An impossible feat because I know that I will never be completely organized or caught up. I still have pictures from last May on my camera that need to be downloaded and developed. Ugh!
Just not enough time in the day to do everything I would like to do and everything I have to do.
I guess I better get up from the computer and start doing my housework so that I can get to the scrapbook room and do what I want to do today.
